Tumbes
The social cycle of the year begins on January 1st with the popular New Year celebrations, which in Tumbes have their traditional display in the Bellavista neighborhood, a historic bastion of the departmental capital. In the middle of the summer season, the city fills with families, visitors and locals who take to the streets to say goodbye and welcome the new year.
The celebration is customary and social in nature: public spaces become a stage for gathering, music and entertainment, in a warm atmosphere typical of the tropical savanna climate that characterizes the region. It is one of the first great internal mobilizations of the Tumbes festive calendar.
It is celebrated in the Bellavista neighborhood, a historic bastion of the departmental capital of Tumbes.
